The Rub

OK, here's the rub, the purpose of the ride is to raise funds for the Rescue Helicopter Service based in Tamworth, New South Wales, Australia and I need you to put a few of your hard earned dollars their way.

It costs something in the order of $3 million per annum to run the BK117-B2 chopper out of Tamworth.



No, you don't need to pay that much, around 50% of the operating expenses are provided for through the NSW Department of Health and Westpac pay for naming rights that makes up another 10%.

It's events like this ride that raise the remaining $1.2 million for those operating expenses which include manning the chopper with trained crews and the maintenance facilities.
